Masahiro Tanaka can opt-out of his contract with the New York Yankees after the 2017 season, but the right-hander says he isn't focused on the potential to do so.

Tanaka's seven-year, $155 million contract carries a $23 million salary from 2018-20 if he opts to honor the remainder of the seal.

"It's something that I put aside going into the season," Tanaka said. "Can't be really thinking about that while you go through the season, really focus on this season and when the time comes after the season, then I'll probably have a chance to think about that more."
