The Pittsburgh Pirates have asked the Washington Nationals for both Lucas Giolito and Victor Robles in a trade for Andrew McCutchen.

The Nationals declined the offer.

The Texas Rangers have also found Pittsburgh's asking price high and Jon Heyman has reported that a "mystery" team has discussed a deal with the Pirates as well.
