The Detroit Tigers have exercised their option on the contract of Brad Ausmus for the 2017 season, according to multiple reports.

Ausmus, 47, is staying despite the team missing the postseason for the second straight year. The Tigers were eliminated from the Wild Card race on the last day of the regular season.

Ausmus replaced Jim Leyland as manager in November 2013. Overall, the Tigers are 250-234 under Ausmus.
