Hanley Ramirez is quieter than natural leaders David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia, but he's settling into a leadership role with the Boston Red Sox.

"It's a long season, it's what I tell young guys," Ramirez said. "April, May June — then the tough time comes. You've got to let them know it's a long season, you're not going to stay hot the whole year, you're not going to hit .800. We try to remind them of that a little bit."

Ramirez, 32, is hitting .294/.364/.517 with 28 home runs and 106 RBIs in 574 plate appearances.
