The Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins worked out a trade that would have sent Shelby Miller to the National League East in exchange for three pitchers, but Arizona ownership shot down the deal.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today writes that Diamondbacks ownership said such a trade "just wouldn't look good" considering the huge package the club gave up to acquire Miller from the Atlanta Braves just last winter.

The Diamondbacks were also considering replacing Chip Hale with Triple-A manager Phil Nevin before being told that ownership wouldn't approve such a move.
