David Ortiz was helped off the field in the ninth inning on Wednesday, unable to put weight on his right foot.

Ortiz fouled a 99 mph fastball thrown by Dellin Betances of the New York Yankees off the middle of his right shin, but X-rays and a fluoroscan taken at Fenway Park were negative.

Dave Dombrowski said Ortiz was "walking regularly" before he left the ballpark.

In the final season of his career, Ortiz, 40, leads the league with 36 doubles, 61 extra-base hits and a 1.012 OPS. He has 25 homers and is batting .307.
