Brad Miller was not happy last week when the Tampa Bay Rays informed him that he would no longer be the team's starting shortstop when Matt Duffy came off the disabled list.

The Rays acquired Duffy from the San Francisco Giants at the trade deadline.

"I'm not going to change my perception on that whatsoever," Miller said.

Miller has 20 home runs, more than any member of the club other than Evan Longoria.

The 26-year-old is eligible for arbitration for the first time next season and won't be a free agent until 2020.

"I think I've shown them all year how valuable I am," Miller said. "But at the end of the day I've got to go out and play, and that's all that matters."
