The San Francisco Giants are moving Jake Peavy to the bullpen to make room in the rotation for Matt Moore, who they acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.

Moore will make his debut for the Giants on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

"Too grateful to be hateful!" Peavy said, quoting the Grateful Dead.

He would prefer to start, but still feels he can contribute to the Giants.

"(Objecting) is not who I am or what I'd ever do," said Peavy, who has started in 377 of his 378 Major League appearances. "I choose the positive outlook. It's part of being a professional, doing your job and being a teammate. ... I'd be lying to you if I didn't tell you that I think I could start. That said, I'm 100 percent committed to this organization and the contract I signed, and I love the guys in that room too much to let them down in any way."
