The Texas Rangers are interested in trading for Edinson Volquez, who is in the final season of a two-year with the Kansas City Royals.

Volquez's deal carries a $10 million option for 2017 that can be bought out for $3 million.

He started against Texas on Sunday and the Rangers had a huge contingent on hand to watch him pitch. He allowed one run over six innings.

The Rangers originally signed Volquez as an 18-year-old amateur free agent in 2001. He broke into the Major Leagues with the club in 2005.
