The Chicago White Sox are not interested in short-term rentals players and are open to the idea of a rebuild, according to Rick Hahn.

Hahn acknowledged the White Sox were "mired in mediocrity" after dropping six of seven. They are 10.5 games behind the Cleveland Indians in the American League Central.

With the Aug. 1 non-waiver trade deadline approaching, Hahn said the White Sox have "to stay open-minded."

"We're not where we want to be," Hahn said. "We've spent a fair amount of time focusing on the here-now for the last few years, and it hasn't paid off as handsomely as we hoped. So we have to stay open-minded."
