The Miami Marlins have acquired Fernando Rodney in a trade with the San Diego Padres.

Miami sent right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack to San Diego in the swap.

Rodney, 39, has an 0.31 ERA and 17 saves in 28 appearances with the Padres this season. He has 253 career saves.

At 41-37, the Marlins currently hold the National League's second Wild Card spot.
