The Washington Nationals are trying to figure out how to get Trea Turner back to the Major Leagues as soon as possible and have played him in center field at Triple-A Syracuse.

Turner is rated as Washington's No. 2 prospect and the ninth-best in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.

He started in center for Syracuse for the first time in his professional career on Monday. Turner had only played the middle infield since he was drafted in 2014, but Daniel Murphy and Danny Espinosa are blocking him at the Major League level.

"We feel that offensively he's Major League ready," Rizzo said. "Danny's playing extremely well at shortstop up here. We've got a full roster of really qualified quality players at the big league level, but he's a guy that we would like to see here in the big leagues."
