Alex Rodriguez was benched for the second straight game on Monday night and the expectation is that he will not be at designated hitter against right-handers going forward.

Joe Girardi declined to say whether the New York Yankees will use him in a strict platoon with Rodriguez starting against lefties.

Rodriguez is hitting .223 with eight homers and 26 RBIs on the season. Against righties, his OPS is just .584, while versus lefties, it is .837.

"You haven't heard the last of me," he vowed.

Rodriguez is being paid $21 million this season and is owed the same amount in 2017.
