The Atlanta Braves went into extra innings on Wednesday, allowing Freddie Freeman to become the first player to hit for the cycle in the Major Leagues this season.

No member of the Braves had hit for the cycle in nearly eight years.

Freeman completed the cycle with a single in the 11th inning against the Cincinnati Reds.

He was 4-for-7 on the night, with two runs scored, two strikeouts and no walks.
