The Chicago White Sox have designated Jimmy Rollins for assignment and promoted Tim Anderson from the Minor Leagues.

Chicago has lost 12 of their last 15 games.

Rollins, 37, batted .221 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 41 games with the White Sox this season. He signed a one-year, $2 million deal before the season.

Anderson, who turns 23 later this month, is batting .304 with four home runs, 20 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in 55 games at Triple-A Charlotte this season.
