The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to re-evaluate Vince Velasquez on Thursday after he left Wednesday's start against the Chicago Cubs with biceps soreness.

Velasquez, whose fastball averages 94 mph, threw his first two pitches of the game at 86 and 87 mph. The Phillies then pulled him from the game.

The right-hander said afterward he was "not concerned at all" and said he thought his issues were "minor" compared to what he felt before undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2011.

"Historically, biceps are not a danger area," Pete Mackanin said. "Not to diminish the possibility of it being bad, but it's not an elbow. It's not a shoulder. So we'll just have to wait and see what the evaluation is."
