The Kansas City Royals have offered Yordano Ventura in trades within the last month, according to two baseball executives.

Ventura's character is back in question after he hit Manny Machado in the back with a fastball on Tuesday night, sparking a melee between the Royals and Baltimore Orioles.

Kansas City signed Ventura to a five-year, $23 million extension before the 2015 season. The deal, which implied that Dayton Moore expected the right-hander to be entrenched in the team's rotation, also includes two options years at $12 million.
