The New York Yankees have placed Alex Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained hamstring.

Rodriguez suffered the injury while running to first base on a fifth-inning double-play groundout Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles.

"The machine doesn't lie," Rodriguez told reporters after his MRI.

Rodriguez also revealed that the team had a meeting prior to Tuesday's loss in which he told his teammates that there is no reason they can't score five runs per game.
