Charlie Morton will have surgery on his torn left hamstring Monday in Philadelphia and will miss the remainder of the season.

Morton will need six to eight months to recover, according to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Adam Morgan, who has been pitching at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, is expected to take Morton's spot Friday against the Cleveland Indians at Citizens Bank Park.

Morton injured himself Saturday, running to first base on a sacrifice-bunt attempt.
