Victor Martinez had a honest assessment of the Detroit Tigers' offensive display on Tuesday night.

Martinez, 37, gave credit to Oakland Athletics pitcher Rich Hill, but was critical of his team's play as well.

"Bottom line: The guy threw good," he said. "We were horses--- as an offense."

Hill allowed just four singles, no walks and struck out eight in seven scoreless innings. The Tigers have been scuffling offensively as of late.

"We're not hitting," Brad Ausmus said when asked if he could pinpoint why the Tigers' bats were silent again. "That's my theory."
