Adrian Beltre acknowledged Thursday that he is still waiting for the Texas Rangers to offer him a contract extension.

It wasn't all that long ago that an agreement on a new pact appeared to be a mere practicality.

Beltre, 37, can become a free agent at the end of the season. He has said all along that he doesn't want to negotiate during the season, but recently added that he'll consider a firm proposal that could either accept or reject.
