The Boston Red Sox have no plans to send Rusney Castillo to Triple-A Pawtucket, according to John Farrell.

Castillo has been operating as Boston's fifth outfielder.

"Every player, you want to be sure that they're getting regular time, and in his role, right now, it's a challenge to get the regular at-bats," Farrell said. "I can't say that we've gotten to the point where we're looking to make a change. I won't rule out that it might come up in conversation as we go forward. But we're not there yet."

Castillo has only been a productive Major League player in spurts. He was the favorite to be the team's starting left fielder, but ultimately lost the job to Brock Holt and Chris Young.
