The Boston Red Sox have plans for left field and they don't include Rusney Castillo.

Castillo was the favorite to be the team's starting left fielder when spring training began last month.

Instead, John Farrell says the Red Sox will use a platoon of Brock Holt and Chris Young. Holt will get a majority of the action with Young expected to play against left-handed pitching.

Castillo signed a seven-year, $72.5 million deal in August 2014, but has hit just .262 with a .681 OPS in 309 at-bats in the Major Leagues.
