Recently reported extension talks between the Toronto Blue Jays and Edwin Encarnacion didn't advance very far.

Encarnacion told ESPN Deportes that the talks stalled over the length of a potential contract and the slugger generally expressed a pessimistic outlook on the possibility of a deal.
