The Kansas City Royals have signed Dayton Moore and Ned Yost to contract extensions a few months after winning the 2015 World Series.

Yost, who had been entering the final year of his deal, signed on for two more years and is now committed through the 2018 season.

The manager had been unsure about how long he'd manage, but signed on when Moore's tenure was extended.

"Once we won, Dayton and I, we didn't really start talking contracts until the last couple of weeks," Yost said.

"I'll have to get to the point in '18 when I'll have to evaluate it,'' he said. "But you work so hard as a group to develop a winner and it's hard to leave when they still have the ability to win. We think we have that opportunity through the next few years."
