The Los Angeles Dodgers have hired Alex Anthopoulos as vice president of baseball operations.

Anthopoulos comes to Los Angeles from Toronto, where the 38-year-old executive spent the past six years as general manager of the Blue Jays.

It was reported last week that the Dodgers planned to hire Anthopoulos.
