The Milwaukee Brewers have interest in signing Pedro Alvarez.

Alvarez, who the Pittsburgh Pirates allowed to become a free agent, would take over for recently-traded Adam Lind at first base.

He hit .243/.318/.469 with 27 home runs in 491 plate appearances in 2015.
