The Chicago White Sox have hired Rick Renteria as their new bench coach.

The club also announced that Greg Sparks will be the new assistant hitting coach.

Renteria last served as the manager of the Chicago Cubs in 2014 before he was replaced by Joe Maddon this past season. He also was the manager for Team Mexico in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. He has three years of bench coach experience with the San Diego Padres, from 2011 to 2013.
