Don Mattingly interviewed with the Miami Marlins on Monday for their vacant managerial position.

Both sides entered the meeting with mutual interest and hoping a deal could be completed by the end of the week.

Mattingly earned $1.5 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers this season and was reportedly set to make $1.6 million in 2016. The Dodgers won't have to pay him the $1.6 million if he lands a job for at least that amount.
