The Seattle Mariners are not expected to bring Lloyd McClendon back as manager, according to a source.

The Mariners have not made the playoffs in two years under the manager.

They went 87-75 his first year, missing the postseason by one game. Seattle went 76-86 despite lofty expectations in 2015, leading to the dismissal of general manager Jack Zduriencik in late August.

The team hired Jerry Dipoto as GM on on Sept. 29.
