The New York Yankees are unlikely to pursue David Price or Yoenis Cespedes in free agency.

Hal Steinbrenner has been clear in not wanting to add another significant contract until Carlos Beltran and Mark Teixeira come off the books in 2016 and Brett Gardner, Alex Rodriguez and CC Sabathia expire after 2017.

The Yankees’ top 10 salaries from 2015 all return next year at a luxury tax price of roughly $190.3 million. The seven players they are likely to go to arbitration with would cost $22.7 million.

Signing Price for at least $30 million per year would be another $45 million annually for the Yankees.
