Doug Fister began the season as a starter, but the Washington Nationals moved him to the bullpen when they decided to move Joe Ross into the rotation.

Fister also dealt with forearm tightness and was taken off the disabled list on June 18th.

"Right about the time I went into the bullpen, I was starting to figure things out, getting healthy. Obviously, being in the bullpen has allowed me to have the time to figure things out," Fister said. "The last few outings, I have been getting into that groove of who I am, what I do and how I do it, whether it's mechanical or the mental side of the game. I had a lot of time to think and reassess where I am."

The 25-year-old hasn't thought much about free agency, but he does want to start again.

"I haven't really looked at it. As of right now, I'm still in this uniform," Fister said. "I'm a pitcher on this team. … I' haven't really looked into [free agency]. Someday, I would like to be a starter again, whether it's here or somewhere else. How many days we have here? I will wear this uniform proudly and continue to do so."
