The Detroit Tigers say they haven't made a decision regarding the future of Brad Ausmus despite reports that they plan to fire him as manager after the season.

Al Avila, who was named general manager after Dave Dombrowski was let go, released a statement Friday amid the reports.

"I reconfirmed with [owner] Mr. [Mike] Ilitch and manager Brad Ausmus this morning that these evaluations are ongoing and decisions in any of these areas will be made by the end of the season," Avila said.

Detroit has disappointed in Ausmus' second season at the helm.
