The Yankees are shutting down starter Nathan Eovaldi for two weeks after an MRI on Monday revealed right elbow inflammation, the team announced. It is unclear whether Eovladi will be able to pitch the rest of the regular season or in the playoffs.

Eovaldi had Tommy John surgery when he was a high schooler. He is 14-3 with a 4.20 ERA and is projected to be one of the Yankees' playoff starters if they make it into a divisional series.
