The San Francisco Giants are leaving the door open for Tim Lincecum to return despite season-ending hip surgery and the lack of a contract for 2016.

"My door will always be open for Tim Lincecum. That’s how much I think of him," Bruce Bochy said. "That's a decision that’s made on the baseball side, obviously with everybody. I appreciate what he's done and the time I've had to this point with him. It doesn't mean that won't continue. I can't answer that right now."

Lincecum, 31, hasn’t pitched since June 27. He has 108 wins and a 3.61 ERA in nine seasons and struck out at least 200 batters in four straight years. He’s in the final year of a two-year, $35 million contract.

"At this point, no one’s ruling anything out," Larry Baer said. "I don’t think Timmy is ruling it out, and I don’t think we’re ruling it out."
