The New York Mets plan to proceed with a plan that will allow Matt Harvey to pitch in the postseason.

Doctors and agent Scott Boras have recommended a limit of 180 innings for Harvey, who is in his first season following Tommy John surgery.

Harvey has pitched 166⅓ innings in 2015, leaving room for just a few more starts before the cap of 180 is surpassed.

The Mets plan to skip Harvey at least once this month and move to a six-man rotation to reduce the workload on their young starters.
