The St. Louis Cardinals have hired Randy Flores as their new director of amateur scouting.
Flores retired as a player following the 2010 season.
The 40-year-old left-hander has been working as an assistant coach at USC.
St. Louis was in need of a new scouting director after the firing of Carlos Correa, who admitted a role in Cardinals' breach of the Houston Astros' computer network.
