CC Sabathia said Monday he made a "bad decision" when he was involved in an altercation outside a night club in Toronto over the past weekend.

"I just flipped out," Sabathia said.

The incident took place on Friday night after the New York Yankees-Toronto Blue Jays game at Rogers Centre. A video, which first surfaced on Twitter on Saturday night, showed Sabathia yelling at what he described as hecklers. The left-hander motioned as if he wanted to make the confrontation physical. Two members of Sabathia's party pushed him into a cab, averting what later turned into a melee.

The video received wider Internet distribution when TMZ posted it on Monday.

"It was a bad decision on my part," Sabathia said. "I probably should've kept quiet and got in a cab. I'm just glad I ended up getting in the cab before everything went down. I didn't know that big fight happened afterward. It was just a bad decision on my part."
