Mike Trout is quietly putting together the best season of his young career, which is saying something when you consider the historic numbers he put up in his first few years.

Trout compiled 20.8 Wins Above Replacement in his first two seasons, played at ages 20 and 21, the highest total ever through that age. He contributed 8.0 WAR to the Los Angeles Angels last season and won his first American League MVP award.

Trout is on pace for a third 10-WAR season in 2015, when no one since Barry Bonds in 2004 has had even one.

He currently has 35.8 WAR, just behind Ty Cobb (36.2) and Ted Williams (36.4) on the all-time list for career WAR through age-23 season. A strong finish will allow Trout to easily overtake Williams for first place on that list.
