Brad Ausmus will remain the manager of the Detroit Tigers for the remainder of the 2015 season.

At that point, Ausmus will be evaluated like everyone else within the organization.

"I believe in Brad Ausmus," said Al Avila, who was promoted to general manager Tuesday after Dave Dombrowski was released from his contract. "He is our manager for the rest of this season for sure. I have all the confidence in him. I think he's done a good job. Just like everything else from here on out, everything will be evaluated. Our staff will be evaluated. Our major-league club will be evaluated as we have done in years past.

"We'll make decisions moving forward after that. But I do have all the confidence in the world in Brad Ausmus and his staff."

Ausmus is in his second season as manager of the Tigers. He signed a three-year contract with a club option for a fourth season prior to the 2014 season.
