Cole Hamels told the Philadelphia Phillies that he would not accept a deal to the Houston Astros, according to a source.
Philadelphia traded Hamels to the Texas Rangers in an eight-player deal on Wednesday night. Hamels had a no-trade clause in his contract that allowed a deal to select teams without his consent. The Rangers were on the approved list.
Houston is looking to further bolster their rotation after acquiring Scott Kazmir last week.
