The Los Angeles Angels are talking to clubs about trading some of their pitching depth for a left fielder, according to Major League sources.

The Angels will have six starters when Jered Weaver returns from a left hip injury. Garrett Richards, Matt Shoemaker, C.J. Wilson, Hector Santiago and Andrew Heaney have a 2.61 ERA since Weaver last pitched on June 20.

"The two names mentioned most often by opposing executives as likely to be traded by the Angels are Shoemaker and Wilson — and young first baseman/DH C.J. Cron also could be used to deepen a deal," writes Joel Sherman.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been mentioned as a possible trade partner as they look for a starter to pair with Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke at the top of their rotation. They also have a potential solution for the Angels in Andre Ethier.
