The Texas Rangers have been connected to Cole Hamels since Yu Darvish was lost to Tommy John surgery, but they are unlikely to acquire the left-hander in a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies.

There is currently "no traction" between the two clubs in trade talks, according to a source.

"If we were going to do that trade, we would have already done it by now," the source said.
