The Detroit Tigers looked like buyers heading into July, but Miguel Cabrera's injury may alter their path as the non-waiver trade deadline approaches.

Detroit is less than two games behind the Minnesota Twins for second place in the American League Central and two games behind the Los Angeles Angels for the American League's top Wild Card spot.

The Tigers are 41-40 at the midpoint of the season, their poorest record since a 39-42 mark for the first half in 2012.
