The Padres activated outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. from the 15-day disabled list and sent outfielder Abraham Almonte to Triple-A El Paso after Sunday's loss to Cincinnati.

Upton will join brother Justin on the Padres. He'll be ready to play Monday night in Atlanta.

Upton has been sidelined by an injured left foot. He hit .280 with one home run and six RBIs in 50 at-bats over 13 games during a medical rehab stint with El Paso.
