The Philadelphia Phillies are willing to cover more of the money remaining on Cole Hamels' contract in a trade than they were earlier this season.

However, the Phillies are still looking for an elite prospect in return for the left-hander.

Philadelphia is hoping that a willingness to pay more of Hamels' salary will help entice a club to part with a prospect in a trade.

Hamels, who is signed through 2018, has a 2.91 ERA, 1.090 WHIP and 76 strikeouts in 74.1 innings this season.
