The New York Mets have insurance on David Wright's contract that will cover 75 percent of the money he is owed for the time he misses due to injury once he is sidelined for 60 or more days.

Wright is owed $20 million this season, which means the Mets could recover a significant amount of money if spinal stenosis keeps him out for a few months.

He was initially sidelined in mid-April by a hamstring injury.
