The Chicago Cubs haven't ruled out promoting Kyle Schwarber this season.

They selected Schwarber in the first round of last June's Major League Baseball draft.

There has been talk of moving Schwarber into the outfielder from catcher, but Jaron Madison, Chicago's director of player development, says the plan is to keep him at his primary position for now.

"Yeah. With all the work he's done in the offseason and spring training and big league camp, and going into this year and what he's done so far this year, we're more certain than ever that he's going to stay behind the plate long-term," Madison said, "We're committed to that right now."
