Dallas Keuchel allowed six hits and no earned runs in seven innings against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, improving to 6-0 on the season and lowering his ERA to 1.67.

His run to begin the 2015 season is the best for a Houston Astros pitcher since Roger Clemens opened 9-0 back in 2004.

"I thought he was as sharp as he's been all year early," A.J. Hinch said. "They made him work a couple innings that were long which got him out of there after seven but he really dialed up in a couple innings when they had the bases loaded."

In addition, Keuchel is 8-0 with a 1.79 ERA since an Aug. 21 loss at the New York Yankees, the longest current unbeaten streak by a Major League starter.
