Chase Utley is hitting just .111 on balls in play this season, which suggests that the Philadelphia Phillies may start getting more from their second baseman.

Utley has the lowest BABIP among qualified hitters this season.

He has a line drive rate (20.2 percent) just below the Major League average (21.7) and his batting average on ground balls (.054) is the worst in baseball.

"At some point, we can assume some of those grounders will sneak through and more of the line drives will fall and that .122 average will eventually climb," David Schoenfield of ESPN writes.
